UL students charged with burglary
Three students from the University of Limerick have appeared in court charged in connection with a house burglary last weekend near the campus.
Appearing today before Judge David O’Riordan at Limerick District Court were Desmond O’Donovan (aged 20), Kevin Cott (aged 20) and Brian Sheehan (aged 20), all with addresses at Castlebrook, Castletroy, Limerick.
All three were charged with burglary under Section 12 of theTheft and Fraud Offences Act at 17 Carysfort Avenue, College Court, Castletroy, on May 6 last.
Gardaí made an application to the court to remand all three students on continuing bail for a period of one month.
Inspector Pat Connolly told the court that this would allow gardaí to carry out further investigations into the matter.
The students, two of whom were dressed in suits and the other in a shirt and tie, remained silent during their brief court appearance.
Judge O’Riordan remanded all three on continuing bail to appear again before Limerick District Court on June 8.
