HSE denies failing to implement Neary recommendations
The Health Service Executive has denied failing to implement the recommendations of the report into the activities of Dr Michael Neary.
Reports this morning said Judge Maureen Harding-Clarke, who carried out an inquiry into the high level of hysterectomies carried out by the Co Louth consultant, had accused the HSE of making no real attempt to implement her recommendations.
However, the executive insisted today that it had reacted in a "swift and comprehensive" manner to the judge's report.
It insisted that it had established a range of new procedures to improve maternity care and bring all hospitals up to the highest international standards.
