Gardaí appeal for information on attempted raid

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information on the failed robbery of a security van at Killester Avenue in the Donnycarney area of North Dublin last month.

They want anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Killester Avenue, Malahide Road, Clancarthy Road and Clancarthy Court area between 8am and 11am on Thursday, April 6 to contact them on 01-666-4300 or the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111.

The gang placed a number of roadwork signs and traffic bollards on Killester Avenue before ramming both the front and back of the security van with a Mitsubishi Jeep and Toyota LandCruiser.

The driver of the security van managed to drive away with at least four raiders abandoning both vehicles and escaping in a silver BMW car, which was later located in Clancarthy Court. No-one was injured during the course of the attempted raid.
