€2bn worth of investment 'needed to develop Irish ports'

The Irish Ports Association is demanding significant investment in ports.

The association said today that the infrastructure of Ireland's main ports needed to be developed to cater for increased traffic.

It said €2bn worth of investment was needed, but this would be money well spent as ports contributed more than twice this to the Irish economy every year.
