Attacks on a number of buildings in a Co Derry town are being treated as sectarian, police confirmed today.

Two men were arrested after a disturbance on Main Street in Garvagh during which a number of people smashed windows of a hotel, houses and a car.

There were no reports of any injuries in the early morning attack.

PSNI officers arrested two men – one was since released on police bail.

The PSNI, who confirmed they were treating the attacks as sectarian, appealed for any witnesses to contact them at Coleraine station.
