Man held after gun find in north Dublin

One man has been arrested and two firearms have been seized in the north of the city.

The arrest follows a surveillance operation at Blackhorse Avenue in the early hours of this morning.

A shotgun and a sawn-off shotgun were seized at around 3am today.

The arrested man is being held at Store Street garda station. Under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, he can be detained for up to 72 hours.
