McDowell not invited to speak at GRA conference

The divide between the Minister for Justice Michael McDowell and rank-and-file gardaí appears to be widening.

The Garda Representative Association has decided not to invite the Minister to address its annual conference.

Minister McDowell said that he was disappointed but will try to keep channels of communication open with the GRA, who remain opposed to the minister’s controversial plans for a 4,000-strong team of police reservists.
