Teenagers killed in road crash

A 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy were killed in a road crash in Tipperary tonight.

The teenagers were passengers in a car bringing students home from school in what was believed to be a car pooling arrangement.

At 6.15pm, the car went out of control and crashed on the Ballingarry Road in Mullinahone.

Two other passengers in the car were taken to St Joseph’s Hospital, Clonmel, with minor injuries.

A Garda spokeswoman said the driver of the car was not hurt.
