Body rules against outsourcing of driving tests

The Government's plans to outsource driving tests to private companies are in jeopardy following a decision today by the Civil Service Arbitration Board.

The body has ruled that hiring private companies in an effort to clear the backlog of drivers waiting for tests would breach the Sustaining Progress Agreement.
