GP claims further files are missing at Drogheda hospital
Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Co Louth is embroiled in more controversy surrounding missing patient files today.
Last month, a highly criticial report into the large number of hysterectomies carried out at the hospital said files relating to several patients had gone missing.
The report said somebody with knowledge of where the records are stored had deliberately and systematically removed files relating to 44 women who had their wombs removed at the Drogheda hospital.
Mary Grehan, a local councillor and GP in Dundalk, is now claiming that some women who underwent symphysiotomies at the hospital are finding that parts or all of their medical files are missing.
