Freedom of Dublin for Bob and Ronnie
Bob Geldof will be awarded the Freedom of Dublin today.
The outspoken musician has been selected to receive the honour for his work in helping alleviate debt and famine in the developing world.
Former Olympic gold medallist Ronnie Delaney will also receive the honour, 50 years after his victory in the 1500 metres at the Melbourne Olympics.
The award is the highest the city can bestow. Past recipients include U2, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton.
