40 jobs to go at Wexford prawn-processing plant

Co Wexford is to lose 40 jobs with the closure of a prawn-processing plant in Kilmore Quay, it was announced this afternoon.

Wrights of Howth Exports is to close its factory after four years of business in the area.

Management claims it can't compete with foreign companies buying Irish prawns and processing them abroad.

The staff will remain at the plant until a date is set for closure.
