A Louth man has pleaded not guilty to murder at the Central Criminal Court.

Mr Kenneth Cunningham (aged 30), Woodview Park, Castletown Road, Dundalk, denies the murder of Laurence Garvey (aged 59) at Patrick Street, Dundalk, on December 24, 2003.

A jury of eight women and four men were sworn in by Mr Justice Paul Carney in the Central Criminal Court and the trial is expected to last three weeks.
