Two foreign nationals are being questioned by gardaí in West Cork in connection with the rape of an 18-year old woman.

The 18-year-old woman was allegedly attacked outside Bandon in the early hours of yesterday morning.

She told Gardaí she was picked up in a car by four Latvian men in the early hours of the morning.

She alleges that she was driven into the countryside where she was raped by at least two of the men.

The victim was rushed to the sexual assault unit of the South Infirmary Hospital for treatment, and is now recovering at home with her family.

It is understood that the gardaí traced the car and arrested two men who are currently being questioned at Bandon Garda Station.

Two other men are believed to have made voluntary statements.
