Journalist denies obtaining drugs illegally

The trial of a 27-year-old Sunday Mirror journalist accused of obtaining drugs illegally is due to begin tomorrow after she pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Naomi McElroy, from Grove Park Drive, Glasnevin, Dublin, denies using false prescriptions at various pharmacies in or around the O’Connell Street area on July 29, 2004.

At the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, Judge Michael White, swore in a jury and the trial is due to begin tomorrow.
