More than 300 waiting on trolleys in A&E wards
More than 300 people are waiting on trolleys in accident and emergency units across the country today, according to figures released by the Irish Nurses Organisation.
The INO says the overcrowding is worst in Dublin hospitals, with 56 patients waiting for beds at Tallaght Hospital alone.
The nurses group issues "trolley-watch" figures every day as part of its long-running campaign for action to tackle the problem of A&E overcrowding.
The Government announced measures to address the situation more than a year ago, but the INO says they have so far failed to make any difference on the ground.
