Committee to recommend legislation on civil partnerships

The Oireachtas committee on the constitution is expected to recommend legal changes to allow co-habiting and same-sex couples to formally register their relationships.

The recommendation to allow for so-called civil partnerships is expected to be contained in a report from the committee due to be launched by the Taoiseach this afternoon.
