Report calls for equal rights for gay people

A new report from the Equality Authority has called on the government to introduce equal rights for gay and lesbian people, similar to laws in the North.

The body said that under the Good Friday Agreement, the government has committed to ensuring an equivalent level of protection of human rights in the Republic.
