Galway priest asked to 'step aside' over allegations
A parish priest in County Galway has been asked to step aside while allegations against him are being investigated.
The Bishop of Galway, Dr Martin Drennan, visited the parish in the Galway Diocese this morning to tell the congregation.
He said the unnamed priest's agreement to stand aside should not be interpreted as an admission of guilt.
The bishop said the Gardai and the Health Service Executive have both been informed of the allegations.
