Man held over woman’s death in Cavan

Gardaí are questioning a man over the suspicious death of a woman in Co Cavan.

Officers confirmed that they are investigating the death of a 21-year-old woman outside a house in the Swellan, Cavan Town.

A Garda spokesman said the front garden of the house was sealed off for technical examination after the body was discovered at around 7pm last night.

Gardaí said that for operational reasons they would not be revealing how the woman died.

One man is being held for questioning in Cavan Garda Station under Section 4 of the Offences Against the State Act in relation to the death.
