Minister's pledge over protection of foreign workers

The protection of workers’ rights will be central to new social partnership talks in Ireland, Foreign Affairs Minister Dermot Ahern said today.

Speaking at a conference in Latvia, one of the countries which has seen the largest emigration of labour to Ireland, Mr Ahern said he was determined to make sure immigrant workers were not exploited.
