AGSI worried about proposed powers for part-time gardaí

The Government is reportedly facing a showdown with the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors over its plans to establish a part-time Garda reserve.

Reports this morning said it had emerged last night that the planned reservists would have duties and powers similar to those of full-time gardaí.
