New 'matching-payment' govt pensions on the cards

A new style of pension modelled on the SSIA accounts is set to be endorsed by the Minister for Social and Family Affairs.

The system has been recommended by the Pensions Board in a report to be published next Tuesday, and will use matching payments instead of tax relief as an incentive.
