Authorities in Carlow have launched an investigation into the poisoning of hundreds of wild birds in Carlow town at the weekend.

Local shoppers were said to have been horrified when at least 200 pigeons, sparrows and robins fell from the sky onto the town's main shopping street on Sunday.
