House attacked with paint bombs

Detectives are today investigating a paint bomb attack on a house in Co Tyrone.

The property in Knockavoe Crescent on the Ballycolman Estate, Strabane, was targeted at around 8pm yesterday.

Police said substantial damage was caused by three paint bombs which were thrown at the house while the rear windscreen of a car parked in the driveway was smashed. A neighbouring property was also damaged.

Detectives have yet to establish a motive for the incident.

Inspector Graham Dodds said: “Those responsible for this attack have nothing to offer the community of Strabane.

“This incident has caused great distress to the householder and her family and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the Knockavoe Crescent area around 8pm (Sunday) to contact us at Strabane or use the confidential Crimestoppers number.”
