The Labour party has demanded to know why Deputy Brendan Howlin was pursued through the courts by the Morris Tribunal for the name of an informant which was already known to the inquiry.

Deputy Howlin has confirmed that criminal lawyer Martin Giblin was the whistleblower in question who made the phone call alleging Garda corruption in Donegal in June 2000.
