Taoiseach hoping for early return to power-sharing in NI

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has vowed to push for a speedy return to power-sharing in the North if the Independent Monitoring Commission reports a complete end to IRA activity.

The body - set up to monitor paramilitary ceasefires - is due to issue its latest report at the end of January.
