Man in garda custody died of natural causes

Police say the man who was found dead in a Co Monaghan prison cell last night died of natural causes.

The 40-year-old man was found unconscious in the cell at Monaghan garda station shortly after being arrested following an incident in the town.

State pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy carried out a post mortem this afternoon.

Police haven't released the name of the man.
