One-fifth of population at risk of poverty last year - CSO

Almost one-fifth of the Irish population was at risk of poverty in 2004, according to figures published by the Central Statistics Office today.

The CSO said 19.4% of the population was living in households with an income less than 60% of the national average, down slightly from 19.7% in 2003.
