Third body found off Clare coast

The body of a man was recovered off the coast of Co Clare this evening.

This is the third body to be taken from the sea following last week's drowning tragedy in Doolin, in which three young men went missing following a night out.

The body of Ennis man Martin Griffin was discovered last week, while Broadford man Michael Doran, a native of Waterford, was laid to rest in Ennis earlier today.

It is believed the body, recovered by search-and-rescue teams this evening, is that of their missing friend from east Clare.

The body is expected to be taken to Limerick for a post-mortem examination before formal identification is made tomorrow.
