Talks on all-Ireland transport issues
A SDLP delegation will discuss all-Ireland transport issues with Transport Minister Martin Cullen in Dublin today.
The party’s regional development spokeswoman Margaret Ritchie MLA will raise the development of a 32-county infrastructure strategy, transportation measures and road and rail safety.
The delegation will also discuss local issues such as the upgrading of the cross-border Ballynacarry Bridge and the case for a bridge linking the Kingdom of Mourne with the Cooley peninsula.
Ms Ritchie will be accompanied at the meeting by South Down MLA PJ Bradley and Newry Armagh MLA Dominic Bradley.
Mr Cullen yesterday unveiled a €34bn national transport plan to boost Metro, Luas and rail services across Dublin and commuter services in other cities.
The ten-year blueprint also featured an Atlantic Corridor running along the west coast linking Letterkenny in Co Donegal to Waterford in the south east.
