ARA investigating possible IRA link to British properties
The PSNI's Assets Recovery Agency is investigating possible IRA links to a £9m (€13.1m) property portfolio in the Manchester area of Britain.
The agency said a number of searches had been conducted in connection with the portfolio, which was built up over a period of time.
Large amounts of documentation were seized during the searches at domestic and business properties linked with two Manchester-based businessmen.
The portfolio under investigation includes around 250 properties.
The ARA, which is similar to the Criminal Assets Bureau in the Republic, was established to track down and seize the proceeds of crime and paramilitary activity.
