Ireland's getting ready for its first ever 24-hour swing-a-thon.

The charity event is being held in Foxrock, in south Dublin, to raise funds for the Laura Lynn Foundation.

Over 1,000 people, including the Education Minister Mary Hanafin, will be swinging for 15 minutes each in Dublin in a bid to raise €100,000.

The money raised will be used to build the country’s first palliative care unit for terminally ill children at the Children’s Sunshine House in Foxrock.

The LauraLynn Foundation was set up by Jane Mc Kenna who lost her two daughters, Laura and Lynn, to terminal illnesses when they were aged 4 and 14.
