IRA told commission: 'This is everything'
General John de Chastelain was told: "Yes, this is everything" when he asked the IRA whether all their arms had been put beyong use.
The general said today: “We asked them: ‘Is this everything?’. They said: ‘Yes, this is everything’.”
He insisted the amount of weapons decommissioned, which included flame throwers and surface to air missiles, were consistent with Irish and British estimates.
The general added that he did not see any weapons manufactured post-1996, the year the IRA renewed its ceasefire.
