ESB working to fix power blackout in north Co Dublin
The ESB is currently working to restore power to hundreds of homes and businesses in north Co Dublin today following a transformer fault early this morning.
Around 3,000 premises were affected by the blackout, but most have had their power restored already.
The ESB said it expects supplies to be back to normal later this afternoon.
The repairs do not seem to have been hampered by strike action undertaken by around half of the company's technicians.
The workers, who are members of the ATGWU, downed tools this morning as part of a dispute over the role of external contractors.
