Hain defends decision on UVF ceasefire
The Northern Secretary today defended his decision not to declassify the Ulster Volunteer Force ceasefire until now.
Peter Hain said there was categoric evidence of UVF involvement in attacks on police in Belfast at the weekend.
He rejected denials by Orangemen that they had anything to do with the unrest over a banned parade during which dozens of police were injured.
Mr Hain insisted there was no place for anyone prepared to follow violence.
