Gardaí make fireworks haul on Dublin motorway
A 1.6-tonne haul of Halloween fireworks were found after gardaí stopped a lorry on a Dublin motorway, it emerged today.
Gardaí said officers involved in a joint Customs and Garda operation stopped the articulated lorry on the M1 motorway in north Dublin at 1.30pm yesterday.
The 1.6 tonnes of assorted fireworks were found aftr a search of the vehicle and were still being examined by detectives tonight.
“No arrest was made and the investigation is ongoing,” the Garda spokesman said.
The fireworks are expected to be put on display tomorrow morning for the media at Santry Garda Station.
