Four held on suspicion of attempted murder
A 37-year-old man who suffered head injuries after he was attacked in the Rosemount Avenue area of Derry on Saturday is fighting for his life today.
Three men arrested arrested on suspicion of attempted murder are all believed to be aged in their twenties, police said.
A fourth man held earlier is being questioned.
Detectives investigating the attack, for which no motive has been established, believe a man in a white car slowed down and spoke to the victim before the assault.
He was taken to the Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry, and later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for treatment in the intensive care unit.
