Meath raids net gardaí €1m of cocaine
Gardaí seized cocaine worth €1m tonight in two separate raids in Co Meath.
Officers from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation found 6kg of cocaine when they searched a car in the Batterstown area.
Two men, who were arrested at the scene, were taken to Navan and Trim Garda Stations for questioning under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.
In a follow up search of a house in Navan town, a further 3kg of cocaine were discovered.
Detectives estimated the total batch of drugs discovered had a market value of €1m.
Officers carried out the operation as part of Operation Anvil, which was launched earlier this year to crack down on crime.
