250 jobs go as US technology firm closes Dundalk plant
Up to 250 workers are reportedly set to lose their jobs following a decision by a US technology firm to close its plant in Dundalk.
Reports this morning said staff at the Quantum factory had been told that the company was likely to transfer its operations from the Co Louth town to eastern Europe.
The reports said staff had been given a notification saying the closure would take place in phases and would be complete by the second half of next year.
Quantum's Dundalk plant is used to make digital tape drives used to store information on computer files
