Catholic homes attacked with paint bombs in Belfast
Police in the North are investigating a series of sectarian attacks on Catholic homes in north Belfast yesterday evening, including one targeting a woman and three children.
Loyalist paramilitaries are being accused of orchestrating attacks on three homes around 5.30pm.
A gang of four youths threw paint bombs at the houses.
A mother and three young children were showered with glass and paint during one of the attacks.
Earlier, windows were smashed at a Protestant family's home, the latest incident in an upsurge of sectarian violence in the area over the past couple of weeks.
Meanwhile, police are also treating a petrol bomb attack on a house in Ballymoney, Co Antrim, last night as sectarian.
One device was thrown into the kitchen of the house in Castle Park between 10.30pm and 11pm, but nobody was home at the time.
A man in his 20s discovered the damage when he arrived home around two hours later.
The Ulster Defence Association is currently engaged in a campaign of intimidation against Catholics throughout the north Antrim area.
