Gardaí hunt ATM raiders

Gardaí in Drogheda launched a search this afternoon for two men who were forced to flee empty-handed following a botched raid.

It happened as an ATM machine was being restocked at a garage on the town's Ballymakenny Road.

The men, wearing balaclavas, tried to force their way into a locked secure room, but managed only to pull off a door handle.

They fled in a dark green Renault Kangoo van.
