Man charged with murder over fatal stabbing in Naas

Gardaí in Co Kildare have charged a 49-year-old man with murdering the woman stabbed to death while waiting at a taxi rank in Naas early yesterday morning.

Forty-six-year-old mother-of-three Frances Ralph was stabbed a number of times shortly after 12.30am yesterday following a night out in the town with her husband.

The couple had been celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary when Ms Ralph was attacked by a man wielding a knife.

Gardaí said this morning that a man arrested shortly afterwards had been charged with murder and would be brought before a special sitting of Naas District Court later today.
