Police in north Belfast have carried out a reconstruction of the last movements of a 15-year-old boy who was stabbed to death near his home in the area last week.

Thomas Devlin died after being stabbed five times in the back on affluent Somerton Road last Wednesday night.

He was returning from a trip to the shop with friends to buy food and refreshments.

Some locals suspect the Ulster Volunteer Force may have been involved in the killing.

The PSNI said yesterday that a sectarian motive was among the lines of inquiry being pursued, but it was too early to say if the teenager was attacked because of his religion.
