€3.5m cocaine haul seized
Gardaí tonight seized €3.5m worth of cocaine in a “drugs factory” in south Dublin.
One man was arrested following the seizure of 12kg of cocaine and another 10kg of mixing agent.
The drugs were seized in the Perrystown area as part of an ongoing operation by the Crumlin Drugs Unit.
Bags, scales and manual pressers for pressing the cocaine into blocks were also seized in the raid, gardai said.
“We believe the house was being used as a base for mixing, blocking and distributing cocaine for the south city,” a detective said.
The man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and is being questioned at Crumlin Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
He can be detained for up to 7 days.
“The scene has been preserved for technical examination and the investigation is on-going,” a garda spokesman added.
