Louth firefighter injured in blaze

A firefighter has been hospitalised following a blaze at a factory in Co Louth.

The fire broke out in the grounds of a rubber factory in Dromiskin shortly after 7am today.

Two units of the fire service were called to the scene.

A spokesperson said the blaze was substantial but did not affect the factory building itself.

The injured fireman was taken to Louth County Hospital in Dundalk, where his condition is not said to be serious.

It is the second fire this year at the factory - six people were injured in a blaze at the premises in May.
