Tribunal awards costs to witnesses with no lawyers

The Mahon Tribunal has reportedly awarded €2.26m in legal costs to almost 70 individuals and companies who co-operated with its inquiries into planning corruption in the past five years.

Reports this morning said the decision came despite the fact that those concerned never applied for legal representation at the tribunal.
