A 12-year-old girl has drowned while swimming in a lake in the Glendalough area of Co Wicklow.

A 12-year-old girl has drowned while swimming in a lake in the Glendalough area of Co Wicklow.

The girl, who was part of a youth group visiting the Upper Lake near Glendalough village, got into difficulties at around 4pm, sparking an intensive search.
