Cancer warning as temperatures soar
The Irish Cancer Society has warned people to beware of the risks of skin cancer if they plan to go sun-bathing in the coming days.
The warning comes as Ireland is gripped by a heat-wave that has seen temperatures soar into the high 20s.
The Cancer Society has advised people to protect themselves from the heat by using sunscreen and wearing hats and t-shirts.
It also said infants should be kept in the shade and out of the sun altogether.
