Ireland has higher prostate cancer rate than Britain
Ireland has more cases and deaths from prostate cancer than England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, according to a study published today.
The research also shows that Ireland and Scotland have higher levels of bowel cancer than the other countries.
Although the Republic and the North both have lower incidences of new breast cancer cases, death rates from the illness are similar to England, Scotland and Wales.
The study was carried out by the Irish National Cancer Registry and the UK Office of National Statistics.
